PRP (platelet-rich plasma) and PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) are regenerative treatments that use your own blood to rejuvenate the skin. A small sample is drawn and spun to concentrate the platelets and growth factors, which are then injected into the areas you’d like to improve.

These growth factors stimulate collagen production and cellular repair, improving skin texture, tone, and firmness naturally. PRP and PRF can be used to soften under-eye hollows and dark circles, smooth fine lines, and add subtle volume, and can be used in place of, or alongside, traditional filler.

PRF is a newer, longer-lasting formulation that releases growth factors more slowly over time. Because both use your own biology, they’re a beautifully natural option with minimal risk of reaction.

Both use your own blood. PRF is a newer formulation that contains fibrin and releases growth factors more slowly, for longer-lasting rejuvenation.

Very. Because the treatment uses your own blood, the risk of reaction is extremely low.

Improvements appear gradually over several weeks as collagen rebuilds, and continue to develop with a short series of sessions.

Minimal. Some mild swelling or bruising at the injection sites can occur but usually settles within a few days.

The devices used to prepare PRP and PRF are FDA-cleared. Using them to treat skin and under-eye concerns is a common practice, but it is not a separate FDA-approved cosmetic use. Your provider will explain what results are realistic for you.

Drink plenty of water and eat a meal before your visit to our Frisco med spa. If your doctor agrees, skip aspirin, ibuprofen and alcohol for a few days before. Tell us about any blood thinners or blood conditions.

It varies with your age, skin and lifestyle. Most clients do a short series first and then come back for maintenance visits. Your provider will suggest a schedule after seeing how your skin responds.
