A numbing cream is applied first, so most clients feel only light pressure or vibration.

Minimal. Expect mild redness, similar to a light sunburn, for a day or two afterward.

At-home rollers use very short needles and cannot safely reach the depth needed for scars. SkinPen is an FDA-cleared device used by trained staff with a new sterile needle cartridge for every client. Rolling also drags the needles across the skin, while a pen moves straight in and out.

Stop retinol and acids a few days before your visit, and avoid sunburn or tanning. Tell us if you get cold sores or take blood thinners. Come to our Frisco med spa with clean skin if you can.

It can help overall tone look more even, but it is not the main treatment for sun spots. If dark spots are your main concern, an IPL photofacial or a chemical peel may be a better fit. We can talk through options at your consultation.
